Program Design Overview

The primary purpose of AHI’s Braided Day Service is to complement the already existing Community Based Day, Adult Day and Work Activity Programs, where adults are served with Person-Centered Services that enhance or maintain self-help techniques in activities of job development, soft skills, interview skills, dressing for success, job preparation and paid/volunteer work opportunities. After being a part of the local community at our Paso Robles location, we see a need for more vocational preparedness for individuals to participate in integrated competitive work settings. The Braided Day Services will also give increased flexibility for the needs and desires of the individual to create a plan that works for their own unique needs.

Goals

Goals: Implementation of the program design, specific to individual needs as identified in the Individual Service Plan (ISP), is intended to achieve the following goals:
  • Improved mobility for greater independence to and from employment options that help individuals reach settings integrated in the community.
  • Improved knowledge on how to search the job markets by working with a developer and improving the networking ability.
  • Maintenance of optimum health status by understanding their medical and health needs.
  • Participation in paid and volunteer employment settings.
  • Improved success and retention for individuals seeking employment.
  • Computer literacy and training with software, job search sites, social media and self-advocacy.

Inclusion in the Community

AHI’s goal is to provide a model curriculum wherein individuals experience a wide range of community integration, vocational training, physical, and social development opportunities that are designed to meet individual goals and objectives as indicated in the Individual Program Plan (IPP) and the Individual Service Plan (ISP). The individuals will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of development activities.
