    AHI offers Community Living Services (CLS) that provides services to individuals who wish to live in the community independently or with a roommate and promote a safe, self-sufficient and communal lifestyle. Services include assistance with finding appropriate housing, money management and budgeting, health and wellness, safety, mobility, assisting with medical needs and more.

    Social Wellness and Health Program is intended to provide a new training model that incorporates social skills with physical, emotional and occupational wellness for individuals served in San Luis Obispo county.

  • Student Services Program

    Individuals eligible to participate in our programs should be sixteen or older, have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan with their school district, and a developmental disability. The work experience program provides an opportunity for students with disabilities to have a time limited work-based learning experience, with little to no work history, the opportunity to explore competitive intergraded work environments.

  • Supported Employment

    Our Supported Employment Crews consist of a Job Coach and up to 3 individuals that provide services for several local business’ in a variety of professional settings. We provide quality service, while instructing and mentoring actual on-the-job vocations skills. The crews work out in the community at either contracts, including state and federal operations and sites, or businesses or at sites that are owned and operated by AHI.

  • Direct Placement

    The Direct placement Program provides an opportunity for individuals to secure suitable employment in their community. Referrals to this program are made by the Department of Rehabilitation for individuals who are not eligible for Regional Center Services.

  • Transportation Services

    AHI offers transportation services to and from remote worksite locations. Individuals can start their day at our main locations and be transported to their vocational training site. We also assist with purchasing bus passes for those utilizing public transportation.

  • Individual Placement

    AHI's Individual Placement (IP) Program provides assistance to participants to obtain employment in their community. Through our IP program, individuals who have shown that they are ready for employment within the community begin the job development process. Working one-on-one with our job developers, we assist participants with every aspect of a job search

    intended to provide a new training model for individuals served in San Luis Obispo County.The intent with this new program design is to provide innovative and enriching daily services for program participants. Training will include community-based activities that focus on daily living skills, job preparation and integrated volunteer work, healthy living skills development, self-advocacy, safety, mobility, housing, and social/recreational activities.

  • Braided Services Program

    primary purpose of AHI Braided Day Service is to complement the already existing Community Based Day, Adult Day and Work Activity Programs, where adults are served with Person-Centered Services that enhance or maintain self-help techniques in activities of job development, soft skills, interview skills, dressing for success, job preparation and paid/volunteer work opportunities.

    After being a part of the local community at our Paso Robles location, we see a need for more vocational preparedness for individuals to participate in integrated competitive work settings.

Achievement House, Inc. is a private non-profit organization established in 1957 that provides vocational instruction, day programming and community living services to  Central Coast residents with developmental disabilities.

Supported Employment Program which is a community-based group placement of 3-4 individuals, hired by a business, to fulfill specific job services. Depending on the employer, these services may include yard work, janitorial maintenance, retail services, food services, and housekeeping.

The vocational program is the Individual/Direct Placement Program in which an individual client is hired directly by an employer to perform various job duties. In addition to the vocational programs, AHI also offers an Activity Center and Community Based Day program for developmentally disabled adults, that teach daily living skills, wellness activities, advocacy, computer skills training, music, and art instruction classes.

Achievement House, Inc. also provides Community Living Services for adults with developmental disabilities. With the assistance of a Community Living Instructor, individuals are taught to live independently in the community. Services provided by the community living program include teaching individuals with developmental disabilities how to find a house/apartment, how to secure roommates (if necessary), how to budget finances, how to do responsible grocery shopping, how to pay bills, how to make medical appointments and healthy choices, and instruction in safety, hygiene, and mobility (transportation) services.
